Our trip worked out in way such that it was cheaper to make a stop in Geneva, Switzerland. We thought, why not explore a new city?! 24 hours in Geneva, Switzerland is plenty of time to get a taste of the city and the Swiss culture which is very similar to French culture – Geneva is practically located in France. Consider it as a stop on the way to other countries on your Europe trip!
It was an easy 7 minute train ride from the airport to Geneva city center. Our lovey Hotel Edelweiss was a short walk from there. This quaint, rustic hotel gave the perfect warm Swiss vibes and we couldn’t help but relax and spend majority of our time in the comfortable room.
Evening
We took a walk to Lake Geneva to see the water.
There were so many Indian restaurants to choose from and we settled on Little India. It was authentic and very delicious. Of course we went with our go-to dishes, paneer makhani, palak paneer, naan, and rice. The drinks were delicious too!
Night
Later in the night we found the underground Tiki Rock Bar, a Tiki bar with Florida-likspeakeasy vibes, and spent a while enjoying some drinks. Sketchiz Karaoke & Games featured arcade games as well as a super fun, high tech darts board that even video-recorded all our reactions to each win.
Morning
The next morning we stopped by the beautiful Flower Clock at the Jardin Anglais.
The St. Pierre Cathedral was a beautiful must-see. We walked the streets around the Place du Bourgeois-de-Four admiring the quaint European streets and architecture.
Afternoon
Multiple shops lined the Rue du Marche for a relaxed stroll. On that street we stumbled upon Nero’s Pizza Marche. I grabbed a flat white and Ronak and I shared a “take-away” pizza.
We couldn’t leave Switzerland without eating fondue! We walked over to one of the highest rated fondue spots Le Gobelet d’Argent. The fondue cheese consisted of 60% vacherin and 40% gruyere cheese.
