There’s no denying that shopping local is not only amazing for the community, but you also get a unique and personal experience unmatched by Amazon or Target. Here are my top 7 best spots in St. Petersburg, FL to find gifts.
Za’Zood
When I am in a pinch a large Milkhouse candle or Beekman soap from Za’Zood in DTSP never disappoints (both are available from Amazon for cheaper as well though). One of the best perks is that it comes in a gift bag with giftwrap so you don’t even need to think about it. Candles and soaps are what I like to refer to as a great “use-uppable” gifts that won’t take up eternal space!
Plain Jane
Plain Jane is anything but plain with its curated selection of clothing and gifts. There is a cute baby section which is a golden find among only a handful of places with this in St. Pete. Especially for a Florida-themed baby gift!
The Merchant
Two other shops that have unique, Florida-inspired and St. Pete things are Plain Jane and The Merchant. You will not fail finding a gift at these spots from the curated array of locally-made items, from St. Pete and Florida inspired wares to cute baby goods.
Pieces of a Dream
Pieces of a Dream is more of a boho spot but has some very pretty stuff. I especially appreciated their wine bottles converted into candles.
Upstairs St. Pete
This is by far my most favorite of my 7 best spots in St. Petersburg, FL to find gifts. They have an amazing selection of unique gifts of all sorts for guys and girls. Bonus is probably the best baby section I’ve found in town. They feature a LOT of candles but also a ton of other things. My secret is the corner with good from the brand Powder UK. Powder has the most beautifully vibrant gifts and at the store at check out you get gift wrapping/bagging for this brand specifically.
Mazzaro’s Gift Shop
Mazzaro’s adjacent gift shop is a truly a kitchen’s delight. Not only do they have unique kitchen, cooking, and food items, but they have a selection of other novelty and baby/kids goods like books and, yes, the Milkhouse candles. They carry their own specialty teas, one of which was a mulled spice black tea that I couldn’t resist after trying a sample.
Wild Roots
Wild Roots in DTSP is the most beautiful little plant shop for locally sourced plants. The staff is so helpful and will even plant your selection into a pot and provide plant care advice anytime you may need for your new greens. They have so much more than just plants including chic planters, an apothecary, books, cards, and stickers, all of which make amazing gifts! The shop also doubles as a gorgeous event or photoshoot space.
