Forbici Hyde Park Tampa: Teglia o Tonda?

We recently celebrated my gym buddy’s birthday at Forbici: Modern Italian in Hyde Park Tampa. Their pizza dough is handcrafted: fermented for 72 hours and then baked at a high temperature for a light and airy crust. I was all ready to order a simple, classic margherita when I saw two options I have never been given at a restaurant that serves pizza: square (Teglia) or round (Tonda)? I asked…and I would not be able to tell you exactly what I was told the difference is as to how they are proofed, but Teglia apparently absorbs the sauce a little better so of course I had to go with that one! I would have liked the sauce to pack a slightly stronger punch of flavor but otherwise it was truly delicious and not too crunchy. The vibes were great too! We got put in a very nice private room however the normal indoor and outdoor seating was classy and modern. Especially for a trip to Hyde Park which never disappoints for an upscale outing, would definitely recommend!
