Here is my list of my favorite vegetarian-friendly Japanese Sushi Restaurants St. Petersburg Tampa! Each of these restaurants offers authentic Japanese flavors and vegetarian- and vegan-friendly options. From sushi rolls to ramen bowls, there are plenty of options for vegetarian diners to choose from.
House of Vegano
House of Vegano is a plant-based restaurant that offers a range of Japanese-inspired dishes, including vegan sushi rolls, sashimi, and ramen. The restaurant also features a minimalist and modern interior with a focus on sustainability and eco-friendliness, with a colorful and funky interior design with a Frida Kahlo painting. Follow their social media to keep up with their test kitchen dates for first-looks at their latest creations!

Ebisu Sushi Shack
I’m so sad this is the only photo I snapped of Ebisu but it’s quintessential of its vibes! The restaurant features a cozy and authentic interior with anime posters and Japanese decor. The simplicity of the miso soup, spring rolls, edamame, and sushi rolls is refreshing. The best part is the mochi ice cream dessert!
Pisces (Dunedin)
If you’re willing to venture further up to Dunedin, a very cute area by the way, then Pisces is a must-try. Pisces offers a variety of vegetarian and vegan sushi rolls, including the I Yam What I Yam, Mango Madness, and Shroom a Zoom, with a great happpy hour if you get there early enough (12-6 Tuesday to Saturday). They also offer other unique bites such as avocado fries. An added bonus is the awesome drink menu, but we always end up sticking to rounds of sake, especially after our exclusive sake tour & tasting experience in Japan!
Izakaya Tori
Located in Tampa, Izakaya Tori has vegetarian and vegan menu options – although they are mostly sides and apps, it’s plenty to be filling. This includes eggplant with miso sauce, tofu, and seaweed salad. The lotus root chips guacamole is a unique appetizer, and the highlight is definitely the garlic bok choy. The authentic interior ties the whole place together – it feels like I’m in Japan!
Buya
Overall a busy, chic spot for Japanese, easily accessible in the middle of downtown. The restaurant features an upscale vibe with a dim interior. Buya Ramen does have a vegetarian ramen option that is flavorful, and the shishito peppers are delicious.
Sushi Inc
Not entirely sure about the “authenticity” but nothing can beat the Thursday all-day happy hour prices. I only have a pic of the fried Oreos, but we always go for spring rolls, gyoza, fried tofu, and at least a couple sushi rolls, Yam Yam being the best one. Lychee martini is the drink of choice. One of the best spots for larger groups after work but you might have to sit outside. The dolled up version of Sushi Inc. in my opinion would be Good Fortune St. Pete.
This post was all about Vegetarian Japanese Sushi Restaurants St. Petersburg Tampa. Large veggie sushi rolls and ramen/miso soup are vegetarian staples of Japanese cuisine! I have a few more spots featuring Japanese-inspired dishes I want to try including Dosunco.
