We had our wonderful babymoon at Miraval Austin, an inclusive destination resort & spa! They offer signature wellness experiences & luxury accommodations for the most rejuvenating time. I highly recommend visiting one of their 3 locations at least once! One of the best aspects of the resort is their no-phone policy. Photos are allowed in some areas but overall this really helps truly unplug and be present in the moment!
We arrived in Austin Thursday evening when Ronak actually surprised me with a reservation at Uchi, the restaurant we visited after getting engaged. This Japanese spot remains one of my favorite in the whole country, especially since they have an entire vegetarian/vegan menu! We ordered a ton of food!!!
Miraval Austin is tucked away in the rolling hills of the Balcones Canyonlands Preserve, outside of the city area. Experiences are booked in advance for Miraval but they have very accommodating experience planners that help flex your schedule as long as experiences aren’t fully booked. We started the first day off with breakfast. They have a cafe and lounge area that offers snacks, smoothies, and coffee/tea as well as a proper restaurant where all 3 meals take place. The lounge becomes a bar in the evening. The resort is extremely vegetarian and vegan friendly and all their food is fresh and made from scratch.
The Manifestation Meditation after breakfast really helped calm our minds and set our intentions for the trip. This was followed by my prenatal full-body massage and Ronak’s full-body massage at the relaxing, beautiful spa where we spent the next few hours. After taking lunch, Ronak took a Quick Sip wine tasting class before our afternoon art activity called Nature’s Blueprints. There, we collected different plants from outside and made a couple art prints each using cyanotype and UV light. The art studio was actually inside a yurt almost identical to the one in which we stayed in New Mexico. We then hit up a Relax & Stretch session and perused the nature grounds and pool some more before getting dressed for dinner and then retiring for the night.
The next morning we started off by Restorative Yoga and another nice, long break for breakfast and lounging. We had Lunch with the Nutritionist and had all our most fundamental, day-to-day nutrition questions answered. We were scheduled for Hive Mind, a full beekeeper experience complete with a visit to the resort’s 9 new hives in bee suits. However, it was too cold for the bees to come out so it was cancelled. We still got to visit the Miraval’s Cypress Creek Farm and learn about the chickens, horses, and different crops kept there. The grounds’ 2 mile hike was of moderate intensity with actual terrain. We were fortunate enough to end our evening activities with a Voices of the Soul sound bath experience with crystal bowls, metal bowls, a metal gong, and chanting, which was truly remarkable.
The last day was complete with a Yoga Essentials class, more lounging, and more food.
