8 Underrated St. Petersburg Florida Bars You Don’t Want to Miss

Over the years I’ve found some lesser-Known, underrated St. Petersburg Florida bars that I can’t help but share. Some are proper bars and others are wine and/or beer spots, but they’re all worth checking out!

Cellar Masters

This fantastic wine spot on 1st Ave N features a shop with a wide variety of wine including appropriately refrigerated lambrusco (sparkling red wine) which I appreciated. Not pictured here are the couple of lovely seating areas where you can either bring the wine you picked out to drink. You can also choose from the selection on the menu and do a food pairing. A very sophisticated place indeed!

The Ship’s Hold

This little nautical-themed bar on 1st Ave N and 4th features a wide variety of rum. It seems unassuming at first but has fun little touches like a couple old school Nintendo consoles, a dart board, and impressive rum cocktails. For a change in scenery this place is a fun time!

Bar Chinchilla

This tiny bar on 1st Ave N is a nice spot if you are looking for something as low key as possible while still being right in the middle of downtown. We celebrated my fellowship match here after I searched for literally anywhere that I hadn’t already been to make it more special. It features a nice selection of beer and wine in a simple, relaxed setting.

Dracula’s Legacy Wine Bar & Bistro

We are so lucky to have a Halloween-esque bar right in downtown St. Pete! This spooky spot is nestled in a little plaza on 2nd Ave N and 1st amidst other random cute spots including Paradeco Coffee Roasters, The Ale and the Witch, and HaleLife Bakery. The decor makes you feel like you’re in an underground tavern. I always get red wine here because where else to feel like a vampire?

The Scott

No list of underrated St. Petersburg Florida bars is complete without this quaint spot located inside the The Cordova Inn on 2nd Ave N and 3rd St features a cozy library-living room aesthetic. They have a menu of clean, classic drinks and even doubles as a coffee shop with some pastries. One of the most exquisite little bars for lounging with a drink in St. Pete.

Lost and Found

This is a newer bar on Central that opened its doors around the New Year. It features an indoor and outdoor area, great variety of drinks, and homey vintage decor. A fantastic live band was playing the night we went and we even danced a little! I think this will quickly become one of my favorite spots.

Bar Chica

Who knew the small streetside Cuban restaurant Bodega on Central would blossom into a full-sized restaurant WITH a bar? Bodega has always been an extremely reliable go-to restaurant in St. Pete especially for its vegetarian-friendly options. Now it features this secret, dimly lit spot hidden in the back open after 9pm. You really can’t beat eating yummy food followed by drinks at a speakeasy! (Photo of the bar itself coming soon!)

Must Wine Loft

You MUST check out Must Wine Loft. It’s the most quaint little spot with the best personality and offerings. Their wine list includes a great selection including lambrusco, and their eats are even better. I never thought I would taste fried cheese so salty and delicious outside of Greece!
